A group of students head off to Amazonian jungles to prove that cannibalism amongst tribesmen is merely legend. While there, they make the mistake of hooking up with a coke-dealing sadist (GATES OF HELL’s Radice) who just happened to rape, torture and kill several jungle natives. Before you can say "give me back my goddamn genitalia", the furious tribesmen attack everyone in sight and from that point on, the fun just doesn’t stop. One of the cruelest, nastiest, most demonically vicious Italian exploitation films ever made, CANNIBAL FEROX is as tasteless as they come. That it tries to justify its endless string of extremities in a patently dishonest context of indignant morality makes the sleaze that much more outrageous. Prepare yourself for some of the most unintentionally hysterical material you’ve ever seen in a film that proudly features multiple castrations, eye gougings, entrail eating, tit hanging and genital swallowing. Unfortunately, it also features several opportunistic moments of animal violence, the inclusion of which remains as controversial today as it was back in 1981. When it was eleased in North America (with a hard X rating), it was considerately re-titled. MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY. It was promptly banned in 31 countries, so you know it’s worthwhile.
